A striking, tall daisy valued for its strong architectural presence and masses of lavender-blue flowers in late summer and autumn.
Growing to around 1.5–2 m high, it gradually spreads by rhizomes to form impressive naturalistic drifts. Its exceptionally late flowering season also provides an important source of nectar and pollen for bees and other pollinators when many other plants have finished flowering.
Although tall, it’s resistant to strong winds and dry spells, making it ideal for large naturalistic planting or as a conversation-starter in a small garden.
